As a follow-on to the energy and environment initiative discussion that was held last fall, the Office of Research invites you to attend a workshop to further consider this area of scholarship at Rice.  Specifically, this event will give researchers:

(A)       A forum to interact across divisions and an opportunity to explore whether a campus-wide organization could serve researchers active in this area.
(B)        A chance to define existing collaborative research clusters in a common format, useful for broad communication to potential partners.
(C)        An opportunity to look to the future and brainstorm with colleagues about emerging areas of interest within energy and environmental research.

November 12, 2011, is the deadline to register – click on the registration tab above to register.  Also, if you cannot make these dates but would like to be engaged in the follow-on workshop in the winter please provide your date preferences.  The registration page also gives you an opportunity to select from a list of suggested dates to participate.

Your input will be captured as summaries of discussions held in break-out sessions;  this information will be compiled into a document that will shape how Rice may support its energy and environment research portfolio.
